Innotec Hygiene Solutions are proud to announce that you can now order Oxy’Pharm’s innovative whole-room disinfection system via NHS Supply Chain.

As from 28 March 2022 customers of NHS Supply Chain now have visibility on the Nocotech range and the opportunity to purchase via this channel.

Available are the Nocospray and Nocomax machines along with a range of disinfection and deodorising chemicals as well as validation and health & safety accessories.

The Nocospray is probably the most prevalent HPV machines in the market today with over 350 of them in daily use throughout the NHS.

Its larger brother, the Nocomax has a capacity to decontaminate areas up to 20,000m3.

Listed alongside the machines is the Nocotech range of chemicals.

Nocolyse One Shot and Nocolyse Neutral are the 12% Curative and 6% Preventative disinfectants respectively and there is Nocolyse Food, specific for the decontamination of areas coming into contact with Food service and preparation.

All the above are heavily validated in terms of high-end log reduction versus a full spectrum of pathogens and are available to purchase in 6x1Ltr, 4x5ltr or 20L drum formats.

The chemical range is completed with the inclusion of Oxydor, an odour eliminator.

The Nocotech range is further enhanced with Nocotest Chemical Indicators, available in tubes of 100 strips, the ATI PortaSens III gas detection device plus smoke and ventilation covers kit.

From Healthcare to High Care – How the food industry can benefit from disinfection techniques used in Operating Theatres.

Attendees at the SoFHT Innovation Day at York Biotech Campus back in March were treated to some fantastic presentations covering everything from pest control, cleaning & hygiene, to eating insects!
The inaugural event was equally popular with delegates and suppliers alike, with the topic of Covid never being far away.

As we all know, the risk of airborne pathogens was brought to the attention of food hygiene professionals like never before during the pandemic.
Food production was halted in countless facilities, large and small, as their workforce was stricken by the SARS-CoV-2 virus.
Lessons were learned as traditional methods of disinfection struggled to cope under such challenging circumstances.
Could technology developed to control healthcare associated infections (HCAIs), such as Norovirus, MRSA, C. difficile and e. coli, offer the answer?

Oxy’Pharm’s Nocotech concept was developed back in 2003 to combat nosocomial microorganisms, which were bringing hospitals to their knees.
Simply wiping surfaces with cloths and chemicals was not enough to hold back the onslaught of an invisible enemy.
The developers were a team of microbiologists and scientists who understood pathogens could be airborne and knew the answer would need to be delivered in a manner that not only treated surfaces, but the airspace itself.
Using a unique heating and ionising turbine, their automated Nocotech devices deliver concentrated Hydrogen Peroxide as a dry gas at 80m per second (c.179mph), with a particle size of less than 5μ.
In its gaseous form the Hydrogen Peroxide is able to envelop the whole room space, disinfecting above and below surfaces, reaching inside complex equipment and electronics, as well as the air.
With a validated efficacy against viruses, bacteria, spores, yeasts & moulds, Oxy’Pharm’s Nocolyse One Shot, a powerful medical disinfectant, delivers up to a Log 6 reduction against the most stubborn pathogens.

In recent tests carried out by a world-leading institution, Researchers at University of Cambridge achieved repeated Log 6 reductions against endospores in their CL3 laboratories, which handle human pathogens that can cause serious or life-threatening disease.
The technology is very different to chemical foggers and sprayers currently used in the F&B Sector.
Their particle sizes range from 10-60μ and are much heavier, leading at best to minimal disinfection of walls and vertical surfaces, or next to none on ceilings or the underside of equipment.
Traditional fogging is a wet process and crucial electronics have to be protected with plastic sheeting, including touch-panel interfaces which could easily harbour harmful microorganisms.
The first-choice disinfectant for many users is peracetic acid, a pungent chemical known to corrode metals and degrade rubbers.
Furthermore, conventional fogging uses vast amounts of water during and after treatments as the whole area often has to be rinsed down.

Utilising the same Nocotech devices used in Operating Theatres, Oxy’Pharm have developed a specific disinfectant for the food sector: Nocolyse Food.
The odourless chemical contains 7.9% Hydrogen Peroxide with no silver, as it is stabilised with ascorbic acid, making it entirely safe on food contact surfaces.
The solution comes in ready-to-use canisters and one litre can disinfect areas of up to 1,000mᶟ using the Oxy’Pharm Nocospray 2 machine.
The capability is increased to 20,000mᶟ using Nocomax Easy, which is a highly portable device developed for larger areas.
With no rinsing required, 100% material compatibility and being 99.9% biodegradable, the dry H2O2 gas is able to deliver up to a Log 7 reduction against a broad spectrum of food-based pathogens with no microbial resistance.

How Oxy’Pharm’s Nocotech Passed with Distinction at University of Cambridge’s Biomedical Laboratories

The University of Cambridge’s Biomedical Services have a new bio facility which operates Containment Level 3 (CL3) laboratories.

They handle human pathogens that can cause serious or life-threatening disease.

Biosecurity of such premises are overseen by the HSE – who state that a disinfection process must demonstrate repeatable efficacy against highly resistant endospores.

The Biomedical Team’s previous HPV (Hydrogen Peroxide Vapour) fogging system used a 35% concentration of Hydrogen Peroxide (H₂O₂) but this was causing blistering and, in some instances, stripping paint off the walls.

Recommendation came from world-leading manufacturer of wall coatings, Sika – that Oxy’Pharm’s HPV system is approved on warranty for use with Sikagard (the paint used in the bio facility).

So, they contacted Oxy’Pharm to see if their system may prove as efficacious as their current system, but just as importantly, didn’t show any detrimental effect to the bespoke wall coating

Subsequently, Oxy’Pharm’s Nocotech HPV system was meticulously tested and delivered a repeated Log 6 (or greater) reduction againstGeobacillus in both room space and HVAC – with NO DAMAGE to the paintwork.

(Geobacillus is chosen for testing as it is a pathogen known to have some resistance to H₂O₂ – and therefore provides an incredibly stern test to any HPV equipment being assessed).

Upon completion of such demanding tests, University of Cambridge’s Researchers produced scientific poster to present their findings.

Given the current climate, we deem it appropriate to reassure all our customers, that our Nocotech and Glosair systems are effective in the termination of Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) via airborne decontamination
due to its proven virucidal activity and compliance with the AFNOR NF T 72 281 efficiency standard (November 2014) on disinfection processes by air diffusion.
Furthermore, both concepts are registered at European level with the ECHA (European Chemicals Agency) under the Biocide Directive.

More machines across a wider market spectrum

Around this time last year, The new Oxy’Pharm logo stood tall and proud above the double booth of the IPS Conference in Manchester where the next generation Glosair was on show one side and the Nocotech range comprising the Nocospray and Nocomax machines on the other.

The launch of the revamped logo was timed to coincide with the introduction of the new sub-brands Glosair and Nocotech – a necessity born out of Oxy’Pharm’s recent acquisition and development programme.

The acquisition of Glosair to the range offers a choice of high technology interface additional to the simplistic functionality and mobility of the Nocotech machines – the Nocospray and its larger sister, Nocomax.

The twelve months since then has seen significant further growth not only in the traditional stomping grounds of Healthcare but to a number of new markets wishing to embrace the unique development of the ionising turbine machines utilising hydrogen peroxide technology. Additional to what is generally believed to be the largest number of machines within the UK Healthcare Sector provided by a single manufacturer – Innotec has taken the Oxy’Pharm concept into the Food Sector, Pharmaceutical environments, Hatcheries, Hospital bed decontamination and Laboratory furniture and fume cupboards to name but a few, such is the versatility and ease of use of the Oxy’Pharm systems.

The much anticipated Glosair next generation system has arrived.

The NEW Glosair decontamination system by Oxy’Pharm greatly enhances an already impressive product portfolio with its advanced technology features.

Automated, no touch, airborne decontamination developed around a heating ionizing turbine (as used with Nocospray and Nocomax machines) the new Glosair delivers dry gas diffusion of Hydrogen Peroxide. It will also use the existing Glosair cartridge offering a next generation option to existing Glosair users and an advanced technology system to new customers alike.

It carries validated efficacy of up to log 6 reduction across the full spectrum of pathogens and is fully compliant with European standards for airborne disinfection 2017.

The next generation system carries some interesting features including an in built ventilation system and two venturi nozzles which enables diffusion into target room areas of up to 2000m3. Oxy’Pharm’s at IPS 2017

Oxy’Pharm in conjunction with Innotec will proudly present their new range of airborne decontamination products at the forthcoming 10th anniversary IPS conference in Manchester on 18-20 September.

Such is the wealth of new machines (based on hydrogen peroxide technology) and supplementary range of products on show an 18m2 stand has been required, the largest we have ever had at this annual event.

The centrepiece of the stand will be the unveiling of the new, much anticipated, Glosair Next Generation HPV (Hydrogen Peroxide Vapour) machine which combines the best technologies from both its predecessor and Nocospray innovations.

Details of the new Glosair are currently under wraps – however, due to its top line efficacy, HD touch screen intuitive interface and multi-programme options it is sure to be a show stopper – especially when you see the price!

The new Glosair really is the next generation – whether this be for existing Glosair 400 users who will welcome the fact that the new machine will continue to use the current cartridge or for those looking for a high specification alternative at an affordable price – Oxy’Pharm’s knowledge and experience in this field is unsurpassed.

The eagerly anticipated launch of the NEW Nocospray 2 is here. Retaining all the beneficial functionality of the original Nocospray, the new machine carries a number of improved and additional hi-tech features with an attractive sleek design. The best, just got better!

Many existing users report nothing but total satisfaction with their Nocospray machines, but Oxy’Pharm have been working away on improving Nocospray for some time now and we think they have done rather well. Now that Oxy’Pharm finally launches its new product, here is what you get with the NEW Nocospray 2.
